Berdj Tchakedjian

«My priority was to see things differently. Many years of work have shaped my style and my unique technique that gives transparency to the colours»

Berdj Tchakedjian

Biography

Born in Cairo, Egypt, in 1939, Berdj Tchakedjian graduated  The Franco-Egyptian Lycée in 1957. Being drawn to painting, he then decides to take courses given by the painter Hosni El Banna. Two years later, he is admitted at the Leonardo Da Vinci School of Fine Arts. The four years under the direction of professors and Sayed Abdel Rassoul prove to be most beneficial in the development of a personal style of sensitivity.

Emigrating to Canada in 1966, he works in advertising and gives most of his time to his new career for many years. In 1994, he finds himself once again in his painting and allocates all of his energies to his passion.

An article on B. Tchakedjian was published in Magazin'art in June of 1996, in Billiards Digest, USA, in 2001, in Magazine parcours in October of 2002, in the Aztag Daily newspaper in Beirut, Lebanon, in 2003 and 2007, and in the Horizon newspaper, Montreal, in 2007 and 2008. Two of his paintings have appeared on the front cover of two novels published by Editions Belfond, Paris, France, in 1998 and 2001...

Tchakedjian's style radiates sensual simplicity and beauty in the movement of his lines and curves. The atmosphere of his works are soft and serene. His pieces are viewed as solid compositions. His colors, warm and luminous, are superbly transparent due to his technique. His canvases are exquisitely sharp and are of a high quality finish.

Connoisseurs and buyers will appreciate and rejoice at the sight of his beautiful captivating paintings with a style that is not "déjà vu". Many of his masterpieces are found in private collections in Switzerland, Frances, the United States, Canada, Egypt, Armenia, Lebanon...
